Our Team

Expertise: As the Lead Consultant, Curtis partners with clients to diagnose their true needs and develop the best solution.  In turn, he oversees the CWR team to deliver the desired results.  Drawing upon his own career in nonprofit leadership and communication, Curtis himself provides expertise in marketing and strategy.

Curtis is the author of Expert Advice which is a featured column on the Skoll Foundation's Social Edge website, a leading forum for social entrepreneurs.

Experience: In addition to his leadership of Consulting Within Reach, Curtis also serves as the Executive Director of SixSeeds, an innovative foundation that empowers family based service and giving.  His grantmaking in that capacity combined with his own long history as a nonprofit executive leader has given him deep insight into the needs facing resource constrained organizations. 

The mission of Consulting Within Reach to mobilize high end talent to make a social impact reflects a consistent theme in Curtis' diverse 15 year career.  He has served as the Executive Pastor of The River Church Community in San Jose, a congregation of Silicon Valley professionals which has also spun off several nonprofit social service agencies.  As a Head Teaching Fellow in the Harvard Government Department, Curtis taught courses on social policy to undergraduates interested in public service.  His overseas experience includes living in Soweto, South Africa as a Rockefeller Fellow and doing development work.

Education: Curtis graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Government. He has authored or contributed to several books and spoken before various national audiences.
